DRIFTA ANNEX MATTING $165
This annex matting is very similar to non slip matting you buy from the shop, just very heavy duty. It’s not shadecloth (blows away), or artificial grass (gets completely full of dirt). We have it in lengths of 6 m long, x 2.5 m wide.
This is just wider than an 8’ awning. Most trailers would be only 5 meters long under the awning, I have made it 6 meters, so you can either run it past, or chop off 1 m from the end. It’s such useful stuff, you will find plenty of things to use that 1 x 2.5 m strip for.. ie, line the inside of your kitchen, under your stove, front toolbox, etc....
Any dirt/ sand etc will fall through. It’s heavy enough that you don’t need to peg it down, and being like a rubber, it will dry quickly. Many campsites are sand/ dirt, so having the annex matting is really a great addition to you camper setup... it just sits on top of your canvas, before you put the cover on, when packing up.
Not every campsite is as nice as the photo above (sandbar, near forster nsw), below we were camped on the snowy river near Jindabyne. It poured for a few days, and would have been a mess without the matting.
(small tip, I always lower the corner annex poles in the rain, every camper will have trouble with water pooling on the annex. Just drop them 6” if it’s wet. )

After a while you might want to update them, also maybe add some spreader bars etc. SUPEX make all this stuff. They make the best quality poles in Aus. Lift up the lights, and you have the most comfortable backrest for reading, watching a dvd, or just chilling out. The lights are directional, so you won’t disturb someone sleeping. They are also great for during the night if you want to get up to check on the kids, or duck out the back to the dunny. You don’t have to turn on a large flouro light and wake everyone up.

Oztent started in business the same time I did, and I have been using them ever since. I’ve probably used one more than anyone in Aus, cause the first 5 years in business we practically lived in one, travelling the country doing the camping shows selling our drifta’s. At the time we didn’t have the money to stay in motels, so always stayed in an Oztent. DRIFTA - BOATIES FRYPAN $79
Found these the other day at the boat show. I think they are perfect for camping in general. Everyone has the problem of having a 3 burner stove like above, and the frypan taking up half the space, so you only have one burner left. The boaties frypan is the answer. Still very similar space to a round frypan, but the square shape is much more practical. This is a top quality unit, it’s not a el cheapo fry pan. It’s got a very solid handle, teflon coated, solid stainless lid, and like a powdercoated red surface around the edges. It works perfectly with all our kitchens, which has of course square storage spaces, so it fits in very well in our DCB – car back kitchens, or trailer kitchens... if you like quality , practical things that you’ll get your moneys worth out of a hundred times over, you need a “boaties frypan” !! ......
WINDSHIELD FOR SINGLE BURNER BUTANE STOVES $30
These new windshields I have been trying to get for some time.. a mate of mine now has them made up. They fold flat to fit inside the DCB. Wind blowing the heat away is the biggest problem for the single burner butane stoves.. this windshield will fix that problem.
DRIFTA - PROTECTIVE CARPET $75 2 x 2.5 M
This light "marine" carpet is fantastic for two reasons... like shown above, I have lots of stuff stored on top of my canvas top, but it could rub a hole in the canvas, especially say a stepladder or table.. so we use this auto carpet. It just sits on top of the canvas, and chuck all your stuff on top. Then once you set up the camper, it goes inside the tent on the floor. This is great, as it serves as a doormat, is non slip if your feet are damp, helps protect the floor from sticks and rocks under the tent, and is nice under your feet. Especially at night if it’s a bit cold, the PVC floor is freezing on your bare feet, so it’s really nice to have the carpet there... the roll is 2000 mm wide, so you can have as much as you want, it’s $30 lineal meter. But about 2.5 m long is usually enough. Let us know if you want some.. luke
