SETTING UP THE DRIFTA CAR BACK COMBO - DCBC
Here’s a DCBC in a twin cab, with sidewings. We sent this to a bloke in WA. (see testimonial) The table can be used like a bench, or pulled out and set up. See how you can access all the area in the kitchen draw. This is the SD-DCB.
Here’s the SD-DCB single drawer drifta car back set up. See how much bench space you have.. This is the drawer with divider. Slides beautifully on the Teflon runners. Very simple and works perfectly. No need for heavily engineered steel runners.

Here’s a DCBC in a patrol. We have also put the sidewings in. The sidewings are an extra $100. This is a DCBC , with a DSD – drifta single drawer on the RHS. This was for my mate tim parkers ute, he’s going around aust with his family.

This unit we fitted in the back of a patrol. A young couple were heading around aus, so this will be a great setup... they have taken the seats out, and we fitted a false floor in front of the draw unit... See how the table can pull out half way to use for a quick stop, same with the SD DCB (single draw drifta car back). this carback kitchen can fully lift out and set up freestanding , the same as shown below.
You get a large booltined draw with moveable divider, and lockable front latch. See how neatly the table sits above the draw. This was a custom job. False floor, they wanted to be able to store stuff underneath, and be able to sleep in the back if they had to..
Here's an example of what was used to secure it down. We made up a 20 mm box tube/angle iron frame to sit the 15 mm ply on. This whole setup was $1390 for the combo, and $300 for the modified front. So all up under 1700.
The carback is the best little kitchen. holds all your gear, setups up in 10 seconds and you got a great workarea at an adjustable height.

Here's a DCBC we did for Brad in Brisbane, he's got the new 200 series cruiser. He's put on the new drop down fridge slide. See how without the side wings fitted, it leaves you still plenty of storage space, otherwise these areas can get very pokey.

Here's the new 79 series V8 troopy. Bill Tew from Townsville drove down for us to fit out a combo for him. He's got DCB on right, draw on left, table above , and solar panel . Like our table, that has a special carpet lined place to sit, Bill wanted somewhere for his solar panels to sit also. This is the perfect place for it, can't get damaged, won't rattle or slide around, but still easily accessible.
Cause we design and build all our own stuff, we can custom make things like this very easily. Traditional draw companies can't do these sort of things. Most of our customers say to me, "I've been to all the other draw system companies, but they can't build what I want" , or "the price is just outrageous".. well we can pretty much build anything, and for a reasonable price. See here how the table comes out half way, to make a handy bench for a quick stop. How good is that.. it then lifts out to set up freestanding.

SETTING UP DETAILS FOR SINGLE DRAWER DRIFTA CAR BACK..

Here’s some photos from the last our Birdsville trip 09. We took three drifta trucks, and nine boys. I bought them all a new swag for the trip. My brother ben came also. This was our first night. The carback held most of our cooking gear, and was plenty of bench space for preparing meals.
This was at innaminka on the way home. The boys were really good and pitched in with the cooking. This was my single drawer carback inside the vertical combo. For quick stops, it was great to be able to pull the table out, anything I wanted from the drawer, to have a quick sandwich or cuppa, without having to pull the kitchen out.

Here’s the SD DCB , Single Draw – Drifta Car Back. I’ve lifted it out of the truck , set the legs down, flipped the bench over, and hooked up the jerry can. You can see I’ve got all my kitchen gear in there… Once you pull the draw right out, you get your stove and the tub out.. things you don’t need can stay in the draw. See the cutlery draw at the back, it sits above the tub. Once things are out, this can slide forward. You can just make out a rail that it slides on..
See here now the cutlery draw is pulled to the front, it’s easy to get to. The empty space from the tub and stove is now up the back, so you don’t have to pull the draw out very far. How’s that for a setup. You can see on the video how easy it is to set up. You now have a stove, sink, hand pump, I have two billies, one wot water jug, frypan, plates, bowls, cups, all cutlery, tea and coffee. It’s amazing how much you can fit in it you pack it neatly..
If you have the carback combo, then you can also lift the table out..it also has adjustable legs, so you can get it the perfect height, and nice and level. This really is a luxury setup when camping or travelling, so easy to setup, and very practical. Whether you’re out for the day, camping for a week, or travelling around day by day, this is an awesome package. Works perfect with roof top tents, or say an oztent. I have the new Hannibal awning, how good is that , no tent poles to worry about...
