This tarp that ticks all the boxes. It works great on the beach where you need shade from the Sun. In case you need wind protection you drop one of the sides of the tarp down. When it is raining it will give you enough to keep you dry. Also works great if you have a tent so you can have the entry under cover. It is very easy to set up. 1 person can do it J

We’re loving our large Drifta Hexatarp it’s super light and tuck away like your typical coolcabana. Perfect for beach camping. Strong and doesn’t pool water. And it feels like bigger coverage compared to two 3×3 gazebos joined which is 26kg each and bulky. Very happy and highly recommended. I won’t go family camping without it.

I bought the medium size late last year and checked it when it came but have only just set it up for the first time. I felt a little underwhelmed when it came at its compact size, and with work busy at the time, overwhelmed at setting it up after working very long hours. Today I have to say how impressed I was with the stitching, the thickness of the material, overall finish, and ease to set up. Stays up well in a breeze and really love that it came with decent guide ropes (which I was going to replace like I usually do but won’t as it’s not required) I will change my camp setup as a result of this and wet weather will be less of an issue in the future. I think you need to make sure you have some extra tent poles to get the full benefit, but would recommend adding to your camp kit if you need compact shelter that is value for many and travels small in your vehicle.

I’ve been camping for years. Out of all the bits and pieces I have bought there are only a few items that I would say are must have items. The large Hexa Tarp I purchased last week is one of them. I say this for two reasons. 1. This tarps is incredibly simple in design and to set up. 2. Its reasonably priced for such good quality.
After getting the tarp delivered I set it up in the back yard by myself. Pretty much like in the video on this page. On the weekend, in windy conditions it took half the time (about 5min) with my partner holding the pole. Mates had a more traditional tarp with a pole every 2m and it took half an hour with 4 of us trying to hold it up in the wind. All of us realised how much better the Hexa Tarp was.
I also bought 2 x 2.4m extender poles that were great for the set up but 2 more would add a lot more flexibility. We set up our dome/tunnel style tents so the opening was slightly under the edge of the tarp meaning we walked out into a dry open space. With additional pole we could have really shaped the space to give us some more covered head room near the edges. Its a very flexible tarps in this regard.
We had a significant rain squall come through. The tents and tarp was blown around a bit and we had to reset the extra pole and ropes but the main tarp stood pretty solid. The water washed off impressively well with no pooling.
Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase. Great quality, light and small to pack in the car and easy to set up. You just cant get all of these elements with other tarps of a similar price.
I was also very impressed with the customer service. I ordered our tarp over the phone and they went out of there way to help me get the order in time and they were great to deal with.

This tarp is a valued asset to our camping setup and I can see that there will be so much more uses for it than just camping, this thing will be coming with us on day trips to the beach or family picnics etc. First use was camping, within minutes arriving it started to rain, then it down poured, so we used it as extra rain protection for our Oztent, worked like a charm. The campers next to us packed up and went home, we were snug as a bug. It drew a lot of interest from other campers, some asked about it and we were happy to endorse it. Its lightweight but very strong, well built, fantastically easy to set up and take down, compact, versatile and affective.
