This is the Toyota FJ Cruiser package…specially designed to fit and work in this truck. This unit is hand made in Australia by young Aussies. Beautifully crafted, these drawers run on Teflon slides so no heavy bulky runners – which means Drifta drawers give you much more internal storage than any other drawers available, and also weigh much less. These are the perfect addition to your FJ Cruiser. Thanks for looking, Beechy….
We have a great selection of accessories to go with our 4WD Drawers – fridge slides / sliding top, tie down points, water tanks, cargo barriers, aluminium edging, insert drawers, swap drawers, lock box, bed extension and more…..
This is the system that I’ve developed for the FJ. Drifta’s stylish design and high quality finish, plus custom made to the exact size of your truck. This unit measures 1050W (top 1100W) x 770D x 250H.
You can see how there is no wasted space by using our Teflon slide system – so we save space, weight and of course cost by doing away with normal roller runners – and Drifta drawers slide very free and easy.
The table is unique to Drifta and fits above one of the drawers so is always ready to use and easy to get to. Its best to put the table on the PASSENGERS side…then the fridge (if you carry one) will go on the drivers side. The table can be used half slid out like this….
…or can be set up free standing with the full set of steel legs attached to the bottom. Solid 12mm laminated top and fully adjustable…it’s one of our most popular features. If you don’t want the table take off $100 off the price.
The 250mm high unit finishes the same level as the plastic trim on either side…so you get a nice flat deck from one side to the other – very neat!
The aluminium edge strip is a great option to protect the front top edge of carpet from wear.
There is a cut out on the LHS so you can leave the jack in its original position – you would just need to slide the one drawer out to get to the jack (has a spring pin on the back of the drawer to release it).
The unit secures into all existing holes so very easy to install (no drilling!!). All bolts and instructions provided, or we can do it for you at our workshop.
If you need a fridge slide its normally best to put it on the drivers side so its away from the door. There are only a few fridges that fit in the back of the FJ – the Engel 40L, Waeco CF50 (old model) and the Waeco CFX40 (new model) are the main ones.
This is the bolt on style of fridge slide shown here – this is bolted into captive nuts so can easily be removed if needed.
Here’s our Drifta Slide System (DSS) built into an FJ drawer unit. Very neat – compact and gives you an instant flush top when the fridge is removed.
The slide extends fully to allow easy access to the fridge. And you can see there is a solid shelf between the slide and inside of the drawer, so nothing can fall through and become an obstruction.
Most fridges are narrower than half of the drawer unit, so with the DSS you get a wider table then standard (exact size depends which fridge you have).
The DSS is our most popular fridge slide in the FJ Cruiser.
Vertical Drawer System For Your FJ…
Here’s another option – this is a vertical system with the fridge down low next to the drawers. With this system the fridge is easier to access (as its lower)…plus you can fit more fridges then with the side by side drawers (fits the Waeco CFX 50L, ARB 47L, plus more….)
The unit is stepped slightly front and back so it really does make use of every bit of space – giving you the biggest drawers and table possible. The fridge can go EITHER SIDE.
I normally use the DSS (built in) fridge slide because I can make this slide to the exact size needed – again allowing the table and drawers to be as big as possible (can also be possible to use an existing slide).
I make lots of the vertical drawers – very popular. They do cost a little more than the standard FJ package as there’s more included – email me for a price… mark@drifta.com.au
Need A Kitchen?
Here’s a DCBC unit…so you get the kitchen (shown here on the RHS), a storage drawer + the slide out table. To fit the kitchen the unit has to be made 350mm high (as shown), so a bit taller than normal.
The kitchen has one long single drawer so can be accessed quickly without removing it from the vehicle – for when you need a quick stop (quick cuppa or bite to eat on the road…)
Then the kitchen can be fully removed and set up free standing! It opens up like this – approx. 1400L laminated work surface plus large storage drawer with cutlery tray to store all your cooking gear!
This photo shows the same unit with the kitchen removed and the “swap drawer” in place. So you use the kitchen when touring/camping/4WDing..then replace it with the swap drawer for everyday use – this is awesome!
NEW – BBE $285
This is a new Base Extension (BBE) I’ve made up for the FJ.an additional board that attaches to the main drawer unit and creates a flat area over 1500mm long right from the rear door to the front seats.
It’s a bit short for most people to sleep on, but you could do if you needed to (pillow/head could go just in front of the board on the rolled forward seat base).
Takes about 5 minutes to fold the seats and attach the extension panel. The panel simply clips into the back of the drawer unit, and supports off the folded rear seat – very easy to set up!
This shows a slightly different version where the seats are removed – ideal for them longer trips so you can use the space where the seats are as extra storage (seats out version is $350). THIS OPTION IS A 2 PIECE EXTENSION – makes it easier to lift in/out and also means you can use part extension/part seat at the same time if needed.
EXTENDED LENGTH DRAWERS (2nd row seats removed)
These photo’s show an extended drawer system in the FJ – so the second row seats are removed and the drawer go right from the back door to the back of the front seats (1500mm). The table and DSS fridge slide (as shown) are optional. Having this system means you have more options of what fridge you can use as there are no length restrictions like with the standard FJ system….
2 drawer + slide out table + flush (built in) fridge slide (table and slide optional)
Full length drawers so heaps of storage space!
Plus you get a longer table too. Table has full set of legs attached to the bottom as always….
The flush DSS fridge slide is great – very neat, plus gives you an instant flat top when the fridge is removed.
With the extended system you can fit most fridges…even the Waeco CFX65L + CFX95L, and other bigger models.
You can see how the unit comes up to just behind the front seats.
A good option is to put this lip around the front to keep your gear from sliding forward.

SOME TIPS ON 12 V PLUGS FROM LUKE..
one the current FJ’s (mine didn’t have this) , there is two 12 v plugs. These are located down low in the rear storage area on the drivers side.. I really don’t know why they put them there, even without drawers, they are completely in the road.. especially with some much better places for them up higher.. if you are getting our Drifta FJ drawers, then these 12 v plugs need to be moved… nothing we can do about this, and we can’t work around it.. if you are going to put in a waeco fridge, (see info above re fridges) then you should get it moved around to the passenger side.. (like shown). There is a few compartments behind the taillights, where it’s perfect to put the 12 v plugs. Best thing is to put two, one a standard flush mount plug, and also a ‘merrin’ type plug, as many 12 v appliances are using these.. if I’m getting any electrical work done on my trucks, I always tell my sparky I want it ‘bulletproof’, ie good quality connectors, soldered if possible.. I’ve had a dodgy wiring job done before where the connectors just fall off, or fall off and then spark and blow the fuse.. you don’t want this to happen when you are out bush.. also, where the wires go to the battery, make sure you label them, so you know what’s what..
